Yuvaa 2026, the annual mega inter-collegiate cultural festival of Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, Jalladianpet, took centre stage on 18 February 2026. Students from more than 70 institutions throughout the city participated in different activities and performances at the event. In a variety of challenges, both on and off stage, the competitors displayed their abilities and creative brilliance in areas such as dancing, music, fireless cooking, bridal walk, and more. Participants gave their all during their performances, enthralling the audience with their enthusiasm.

After intense rounds of competition, the winners of each competition were announced and awarded with trophies, certificates, and cash prizes, celebrating their hard-earned achievements. The chief guest, Dr. I. S. Parveen Sultana, motivational speaker, shared inspiring words with the students, expressed her admiration for the talent displayed on stage and distributed prizes to the winners. Later, popular playback singers Mr. Abraham Nithya Pandian and Ms. Thavaseeli Dhanraj graced the stage, energizing the crowd and further enhancing the festive ambiance.

The presence of Mr. Gana Vinoth, playback singer, who was the special guest of the valedictory session, added to the atmosphere of the event. His charming presence elevated the event, infusing it with music and star power.

The students of Loyola College, Chennai, who showcased exceptional talent across multiple categories, bagged the coveted overall championship trophy.

As the curtains came down on the event, the excitement continued with a pulsating DJ Nite, where the students danced the night away, celebrating the success of the event in true festive spirit.

Press Report on ONANILAV – Onam Celebrations 2025 

Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, celebrated ONANILAV – Onam Celebrations 2025 on 29 August, 2025 in the Asan auditorium. This year’s festivities were a testament to the spirit of the festival. A grand Pookalam competition and various other competitions were conducted with over 150 student participants from school and colleges. ‘Onachanda’ a grand shopping festival was organised by the Asan Institute of Management along with Enactus Club of the Asan Memorial college, to tap the entrepreneurial skills of the students. Around 35 stalls including food, cosmetics, gaming etc., were raised and it was a remarkable accomplishment with enthusiastic participation. Many vibrant cultural programmes including traditional Kerala art forms like Thiruvathira, Onapattu, Nadanpattu, Vanchipattu, Pulikali, Vadamvali, fashion show, folk dances were performed by the students of the college and the school. Mrs. Shyamala Jayaprakash, General Secretary, Asan Memorial Association inaugurated the Onachanda and shared the Onam message. Dr. Gautham Babu , Joint Secretary, Dr. Lakshmi Ravi , Director ,Asan Memorial Dental College and Members of Asan Memorial Association graced the occasion. Dr. T. S. Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, Chennai celebrated the 31^st Annual Day on 22 March 2025. Thiru. A. Mayilvaganan I.P.S Superintendent of Police, Narcotic Intelligence Bureau, Crime Investigation Department was the Chief Guest. Dr. S. Kanimozhi, Dean – Administration welcomed the gathering. Dr. T.S. Santhi, Principal presented the Annual Report of  Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science and Dr. M. Jaya, Dean – Academics and Research presented the Annual Report of the Asan Institute of Management for the academic year 2024-25.  The Chief Guest in his inaugural address reminded the students that discipline, dedication and determination are the key elements on their path to success. His address inspired and motivated the students to improve themselves and become better citizens of society.

The highlight of the event was the endowment prizes in fourteen different categories that were awarded to the students with exemplary performance in academics and sports. Mr. M. Karthik (III B.Sc. Computer Science, Shift-I) and Ms. S. Dhanushiya (III BCom A&F, Shift-II) received the Best Outgoing Student Award. The students who had won various proficiency prizes in languages, major and allied subjects received their awards and honours from the Chief Guest. The students who secured hundred percent attendance for the academic year 2024-25 were also recognized for their achievements. Members of the teaching and non-teaching staff who had contributed more than 25 years of service were recognized and honoured for their efforts. Mr. G. Ravichandran, Vice Principal proposed the Vote of Thanks. Cultural events were organised as a part of the College Day celebrations. The stellar performances added an electrifying effect to the atmosphere at the event.

Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, Pallikaranai, marked its 31^st Sports Day with grandeur, engaging both students and staff in an array of spirited competitions. The event, which commenced on March 4^th, showcased diverse sports ranging from Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Throwball, and Cricket to numerous athletic events.

Students, representing eight vibrant houses named after precious gems, competed with zeal and camaraderie. Team Emerald emerged as the overall champions, securing the coveted rolling trophy in a nail-biting conclusion to the festivities.

The grand occasion was graced by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs. Kavya Dhanapal, a BCCI-certified coach. In her inspirational address, she commended the participants and especially encouraged female students to aim high and break barriers in sports. Mrs. Kavya also distributed prizes across various categories, celebrating their dedication and achievements. R. Anandhi of 1^st BBA, won the individual championship for Women and M. Madhan, of 3^rd BSc. Visual Communication, won the individual championship for men. The overall championship was bagged by the team Emerald.

Press Report on Asan Mahila Women’s Day’25

On 07 March 2025, Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science celebrated Asan Mahila a special event that commemorates International Women’s Day. The Chief Guest was Ms. K. S. Sugitha Sarangraj, a pioneering woman journalist and the first woman Chief News Editor in Tamil news media. She shared valuable insights and advice with students on overcoming challenges faced by women in today’s world.

Asan Mahila has a long standing tradition of recognizing and honoring women who have made exceptional contribution to society. This year, the college honored two exceptional women achievers, Ms. Petchi Kannan, a distinguished lawyer and chartered accountant, and Ms. K. Deepika, a talented volleyball player, with mementos and certificates for their outstanding contributions towards women’s empowerment. Both the guests of honor also shared their experiences and insights with the students.

The festival included a range of exciting competitions for faculty members and office staff, with prizes awarded to the winners. The event also showcased several cultural events, performed by college faculty members and students, aimed at inspiring and empowering women.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Ms. Shyamala Jayaprakash, General Secretary of the Asan Memorial Association. Dr. T. S. Santhi, Principal, Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science presided over the event and delivered the vote of thanks. The Vice Principal of the college, Mr. G. Press Report on 18^th Asan Memorial Trophy Tournament

Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science conducted the 18th Asan Memorial Trophy Tournament for Football and Volleyball on 28.02.2025 & 01.03.2025 in the college grounds. Various college teams from across the city participated in the tournaments.

In Volley Ball, teams from Hindustan College and Guru Nanak College  qualified for the finals. The trophy was won by the team from Hindustan College with a score of 25-21, 22-25, 25- 20 points.

The finals in Football was a challenge   between Guru Nanak College and Agarshan College. The trophy was won by Guru Nanak College by 2-0.

Dr. T.S. Santhi, Principal, Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science gave away the trophies to the winners. Mr. K. Giridharan and Mr.C. Anandan, Physical Directors of the college co-ordinated the event.

Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, a beacon of academic excellence, celebrated the remarkable achievement of its 26^thConvocation Ceremony on the 16^thof February 2025. Shri J. Meghanatha Reddy, I.A.S., Chief Executive Officer and Member Secretary of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The proceedings began with a warm and heartfelt welcome from the Principal, Dr. T.S. Santhi. Her words resonated deeply with the gathering, marking the commencement of an unforgettable day.In his keynote address, Shri J. Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science celebrated the harvest festival of pongal in a spectacular manner on 10^th January 2025 in the college premises. As a part of the festivities, various traditional competitions like Pongal Vaithal, Pulli Kolam, Karumbu Udaithal, Uri Adithal and Ilavattakkal were conducted. Students adorned in traditional costumes, participated with great enthusiasm and fervour. Traditional South-Indian folk art performances were presented  by students, sustaining the lively spirit of the three-day harvest festival. The Pongal Vaithal event was a highlight, with students taking on the role of cooks, blending humble ingredients and cooking them in clay pots over an open flame to create a delicious Pongal. The kiosks at Pongal Sandhai, organised by the Enactus Club, provided students with a unique opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial skills and it became a major attraction among students and staff members. Mr. Vigneshvaran, playback singer, graced the occasion and distributed  the prizes to the winners. Dr. T. S. In his address, Dr.M.Selvaraj congratulated the graduating class on their remarkable achievement of successfully completing their respective courses. He emphasized the importance of not only acquiring intellectual knowledge but also of inculcating human values, urging the graduates to become responsible citizens contributing positively to society. The highlight of the ceremony was the conferring of degrees upon 620 graduates from various departments. Additionally, the University Rank Holders from different academic disciplines were duly recognized and felicitated for their outstanding academic performance.

Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science and AKG Public School, Chennai jointly organized a grand Onam Cultural Festival – PONNIN CHINGAM on 12 September, 2024 in the campus. This year’s festivities were a testament to the spirit of the festival. P.G. & Research Department of Microbiology of Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science organized a Special Lecture on Breast Cancer Awareness on 2^nd February 2024.

The Resource person of the programme Dr.Saritha Damodaran, Senior Clinical & Radiation Oncologist, Parvathy Hospital, Chennai, Board member of Rotary Club of Chennai Medical Fraternity & Chairman – Disease Prevention and Treatment, delivered an insightful and educational talk on breast cancer. She discussed the causes, symptoms, and diagnosis of the disease and emphasized the importance of early detection and treatment. The audience was made aware of the risk factors and preventive measures that could help reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Tapping the entrepreneurial skills of students, the kiosks at Pongal Sandhai were a centre of attraction among students and staff members. Mr.  VST Promise Ambethkar, Entrepreneur and a Proud Asan Alumni graced the occasion and distributed  the prizes to the winners. Dr. T. S. Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, Chennai has received the *Best NSS Unit Award* at the University level for the year 2022-2023 for their Extraordinary Contribution Towards Society by organising Blood Donation camps for Government Hospitals, Health Camps, Tree planting drives, Desilting of ponds and making it usable by the people of Medavakkam area and creating awareness on Government schemes.

P.G. & Research Department of Microbiology, organized a Lecture on “Impact of Global Warming on Microbial Diseases – A Warning to Humanity” on 20^th September 2023. The Guest speaker of the session, Dr. A.K. Kathireshan, Director, School of Life Science, VELS Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Chennai, gave a Lecture on how a changing climate will impact microbes and leads to the emergence of new infectious diseases and emphasized the measures to be followed to prevent the spread of microbes associated with climate change.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the Women’s Studies Cell of Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science jointly organized a Faculty Development Programme on 28th October 2023.

Dr. Thendral. K, Clinical Lead and Senior Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Kauvery Hospital emphasised on the significance of self care for women. Ms. Malarkodi. M, Clinical Nutritionist, Kauvery Hospital, Chennai addressed the women faculty members on incorporating lifestyle and dietary changes for a healthy life. The event was a much-needed wake-up call for women’s overall health.

Press Report on ‘A NAtional Level Workshop on College to Corporate(C2C) Transition on 16th September 2023

The Department of Commerce organized a National Level Workshop on “College to Corporate (C2C) Transition” on 16^th September, 2023. The Workshop aimed to elucidate the transformation process that each student must undergo when transitioning from the academic realm to the corporate world. The Workshop’s inauguration was graced by the presence of CMA. Divya Abishek, Chairperson, Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India who delivered an insightful inaugural address. CMA. Divya Abishek eloquently elucidated the expectations of employers and strategies for students to adequately prepare for the challenges ahead.

Two technical sessions were conducted by distinguished speakers: Mr. V. Sridhar, Assistant Commissioner, Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer protection, Chennai and Ms. N. Harshini, Communication Trainer and Consultant – Certified business, Chennai. These sessions covered a diverse range of topics germane to the Workshop’s theme.

P.G. & Research Department of Microbiology, organized a Lecture on “Impact of Global Warming on Microbial Diseases – A Warning to Humanity” on 20^th September 2023. The Guest speaker of the session, Dr. A.K. Kathireshan, Director, School of Life Science, VELS Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Chennai, gave a Lecture on how a changing climate will impact microbes and leads to the emergence of new infectious diseases and emphasized the measures to be followed to prevent the spread of microbes associated with climate change.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the Women’s Studies Cell of Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science jointly organized a Faculty Development Programme on 28th October 2023.

Dr. Thendral. K, Clinical Lead and Senior Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Kauvery Hospital emphasised on the significance of self care for women. Ms. Malarkodi. M, Clinical Nutritionist, Kauvery Hospital, Chennai addressed the women faculty members on incorporating lifestyle and dietary changes for a healthy life. The event was a much-needed wake-up call for women’s overall health.

The Department of Commerce organized a National Level Workshop on “College to Corporate (C2C) Transition” on 16^th September, 2023. The Workshop aimed to elucidate the transformation process that each student must undergo when transitioning from the academic realm to the corporate world. The Workshop’s inauguration was graced by the presence of CMA. Divya Abishek, Chairperson, Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India who delivered an insightful inaugural address. CMA. Divya Abishek eloquently elucidated the expectations of employers and strategies for students to adequately prepare for the challenges ahead.

Two technical sessions were conducted by distinguished speakers: Mr. V. Sridhar, Assistant Commissioner, Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer protection, Chennai and Ms. N. Harshini, Communication Trainer and Consultant – Certified business, Chennai. These sessions covered a diverse range of topics germane to the Workshop’s theme.

Press Report on PONNIN CHINGAM – Onam’23 Celebration                 

Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science organized a grand Onam Cultural Festival – PONNINCHINGAM on 23 August, 2023 in the campus. This year’s festivities were a testament to the spirit of the festival. A grand inter-school and inter-departmental  Pookalam competition was conducted with over 100 participants from various schools and colleges across the city.  ‘Onachanda’  a grand shopping festival was organised by the Asan Institute  of Management along with Enactus Club of the college to tap the entrepreneurial skills of the students. It was inaugurated by Mrs. Indira Revi, Member, Asan Memorial Association. Around 50 stalls were raised and it was a remarkable accomplishment with their enthusiastic participation. Various vibrant cultural programmes including traditional Kerala art forms like Thiruvathira, Onapattu and Vanchipattu were performed by the students of the college and AKG Public school.  The function was presided over by Mrs. Shyamala Jayaprakash, General Secretary, Asan Memorial Association. Dr. T. S. Santhi, Principal, Asan Memorial College welcomed the gathering. Dr. C.K. Revi, President, Asan Memorial Association, Dr. Gautam Babu, Joint Secretary, Asan Memorial Association, Mrs. Indira Revi, Mrs. Priya Anoop, Mrs. Niranjani Kishore, Members, Asan Memorial Association were part of the celebrations. The event was a grand success.

Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, Chennai-600100, organized the 24 th Graduation Day, on 25th March 2023. Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest. Dr.T.S.Santhi Principal, welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest in her address appreciated the graduates on the successful completion of their courses and also urged them to inculcate human values along with intellectual knowledge. Around 700 graduates received their degrees and University Rank Holders were felicitated. The event was a grand success.

The 29th Annual Sports Meet of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science was celebrated on 16th March 2023. The Chief Guest, Mr. R. Balasubramani, Former Indian Volleyball Player & Manager, IOB , Mahalingapuram Branch in his address stressed on the importance of sports and games for a healthy lifestyle. Dr. T.S. Santhi, Principal, rendered the welcome address to the gathering. Mr.K.Giridharan, Director of Physical Education presented the Annual Sports Report. The Chief Guest delivered the Sports Day address and distributed the prizes to the winners of various games. The Individual Championship for Men was awarded to A. Tejas, III BBA and the Individual Championship for Women was won by S. Indhumathi of III B.Com (G) (Shift- II). The overall championship was bagged by B.B.A for Shift – I & B.Com (G) (Shift- II). The meeting came to a close with vote of thanks conveyed by Mr.C.Anandan, Director of Physical Education, with grand success.

The Women’s Day Celebrations of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, Asan Mahila was held on 08th March, 2023. Dr. Renuka Ramakrishnan, Senior Consultant Dermatologist, Leprologist and Social Reformer was the Chief Guest. Mrs. S. Meenakshi, Entrepreneur and eminent YouTuber of ‘Amma Samayal’ Channel was the Guest of Honour. Mrs. Raji Ashok, an auto driver was honoured for her selfless service to society. Miss. Vidyashree, a differently-abled achiever was recognized for exhibiting exceptional determination and confidence despite the odds. As a part of Women’s Day celebration, a series of competitions were conducted for the Non-teaching staff of the College and prizes were distributed. Mrs. Shyamala Jayaprakash, General Secretary, Asan Memorial Association presided over the function. Dr. T. S. Santhi, Principal i/c welcomed the gathering. The women staff and students also presented a variety of cultural performances that added vibrancy to the celebrations. The event was a grand success.

The 15th edition of the International Short Film Festival, Drishya hosted by the Department of Visual Communication of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science was held on Friday, 10th February 2023 in the college campus. Mr. Mohan Govind, Director and Mr. Ashwin Kakumanu, actor from Pizza 3 movie were the Chief Guests. Entries for short films and documentaries from both Indian and International participants were screened at the festival. The best entries from each category were chosen by a distinguished jury panel consisting of veteran technicians from the film industry like Indian film actor and director Mr. Santhana Bharathi, Mr. Vinoth D Kumar (Associate Cinematographer, RRR Movie) and Mr. Ezhil Fernandes (Story Board Artist, Ponniyin Selvan). Winners were honored with attractive prizes and cash awards. The event was a grand success.
