Healthy and clean surrounding helps in the development of mankind, society and a better tomorrow. In this way The NSS unit, Swachh Bharat 2.0 of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, Pallikaranai,organised a camp to create awareness on several social issues including the usage of plastics and the importance of rain water harvesting among the people of Pallikaranai and Medavakkam for the past one month. NSS volunteers actively participated in cleaning the the rubbish around panchayat union office, primary health care centre, Government higher secondary school, Medavakkam and Lakshmi Narayana Temple, Pallikaranai. Valedictory function is to be held at Government Higher Secondary School, Medavakkam on 22.07.2019. To create awareness among the school students, NSS volunteers stage a mime show on the necessity of Swachh Bharat and Rain Water Harvesting. Saplings were planted and the wall were painted insisting the importance of Rain Water Harvesting. The camp is headed by Dr. S. Ramanathan, Principal, Asan memorial College of Arts and Science, member – syndicate, University of Madras. The camp is organized by the NSS program officer Dr.P.Ramesh Kumar.
