Asan memorial institute of hotel and catering management, Chennai was established in 1986.We take the pride in saying that this institute was the first of its kind in India that offers quality oriented and professional courses. We provide organisational relevant skills and practices for the students to have an experience of the industry. We assure that the students are provided placements in well reputed multinational organisations.

ASH –  The training Hotel

Our hotel is a state-of-the-art construction which is built in such a way that our hotel is along the lines of the hotel in par with the industrial requirements. Where we have a Lobby / Front Office desk which always has its doors open to the professional and industry related personnel .

Students will be trained and groomed in such a way that we hope they are sought after by the hotels themselves. We Aim at training the students according to the requirements of the Hotel, be it as a front office staff, Production staff, Service staff and also Housekeeping staff.

Students are given standard operating procedures with the help of the top well known hotels in the city. Where we ensure that we inculcate those habits as a day to day practice. So that the students are trained and hence have a lead above the surrounding competitors.

Along with the training we also have modern technology and systems that are available for the students to use at their disposal to learn. The rooms we have carefully and ideally planned and designed in such a way where the students have a good hands on training in the college itself along with their IET that is part of their syllabus. We have in our building five-star quality bedrooms and bathrooms which have hotel standard interiors, that are carefully selected and chosen.


Over the years, the Department of Hotel & Catering management has established an excellent reputation for the academic performance and for the competence, quality and professionalism of its products which have been well appreciated by the Hospitality industry. The department conducts various collaborative activities such as National seminar, Mega food Festivals, Workshops in flower arrangement, Guest lectures, chef competitions, Industrial visits, sweet demonstration, cocktail, Tandoori, vegetable carving, quiz competitions, Interview preparatory workshop and theme luncheons to hone the technical skills of the students to mould their overall  personality. These activities provide them an excellent opportunity to be exposed to a corporate hotel luminary and to get their guidance for their future.
